The 41st Indian Geographers Meet 2019
& National Conference On Building a Disaster Resilient Society: Methods and
Approaches welcome and encourage prospective authors to contribute and help
shape the conference through submissions of their research abstracts, papers
for an important national conference, which will take place from 21-23rd
November 2019 in Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur, Chhattisgarh -
492010, India.
SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACT AND
FULL PAPER
Participants intending to present papers
are required to submit the abstract (not exceeding 300) to the Convener using
online submission system. Those wish to
participate in the ‘Young Geographers Competition’ should clearly mention as
subject line ‘Young Geographers Competition’. Acceptance letter will be sent by
the email. Only the registered participant’s abstract will be included in the
Volume of Abstracts. Abstract must be written in English MS-Word, normal Times
New Roman, Font Size 12. Participants are advised to mention the Sub-them in
which their paper is to be included. Title should within 15 words. The author
name, affiliation and e-mail should be placed below the title.
THE FOCAL THEME
“Building a Disaster Resilient
Society: Methods and Approaches” Disaster resilience is the ability of individuals,
communities, organizations and states to adapt and recover from hazards, shocks
and stresses without compromising long-term prospects for sustainable development.
Developing disaster-resilient communities and societies requires accurate
identification and analysis of the risks that the communities or societies are
faced with and having all stakeholders from government to communities fully
understands these risks. Controlling natural hazards is difficult, thus
enhancing social capacity to cope with disasters is one of the most effective
ways to manage, mitigate and reduce disaster risks. IIG poses this as
the focal theme for 2019 meet. The following sub-themes are proposed:

Concession in registration to research
scholars is subject to production of valid documents from their institutions. Delegates who are not life members of IIG shall have to pay
Rs. 400/- as IIG Annual Membership Fees and extra amount of Rs. 200/- which
will go to the IIG Secretariat in addition to Registration Fees. Registration
fee includes Seminar Kit, local hospitality and accommodation. Participants will
have to confirm about their accommodation. As only limited numbers of accommodation
are possible to arrange on the basis of first come first serve in university
guest house, hostels etc. In case of unavailability of accommodation
participants have to make their own arrangement or pay directly to the accommodation
facilitated by the Organizers.

Raipur. Scanned copies of bank receipt/original DD and registration form should
be emailed to the Convener of the Meet.
